General – We work closely with clients or project partners to help them determine if and how a PV solution might fit into their site, building, budget, and environmental goals.
Site Evaluation – After initial discussions we visit to the site with the primary task of conducting an assessment for the feasibility, installation requirements, and preliminary costs of installing a PV system. The site visit involves discussions regarding accessing the roof, reviewing possible locations and configurations for the PV modules, and ensuring there is ample space and an acceptable physical location for the inverter, (and batteries, if specified), electrical components, and other balance of system (BOS) components. Energy efficiency and conservation aspects of the site and building are weighted strongly and are an integral part of the assessment.
System Evaluation – Included are recommendations on manufacturers’ products along with assistance in selecting and sizing a total system that meets the client’s budget, fits available roof space, and provides environmentally clean power.
Financial & Environmental Evaluation – Various financial aspects, depending on the scope of the assessment, such as payback, return on investment, and internal rate of return are reviewed. 2.4 VERTICAL WIND TURBINES
A Polish/Ukranian joint venture startup which is currently looking for venture capital has developed a new highly efficient Vertical Wind Turbine that is much more efficient that the standard propeller wind turbines.
Based on theoretical research and practical tests (in wind tunnels and during prototypes testing), the institute concluded that a wind farm assembled from their VWT’s can produce 8 times more electrical energy than the same wind farm equipped with standard propeller based WTs.
• Coefficient of transformation of wind energy is ~2 times higher
• Does not require orientation towards direction of wind
• Does not react to pulsation in wind speed – has properties similar to flywheel
• VWT can have two levels (two-tier design)
• Lower aerodynamic and mechanical noise levels
• Air flow (wind speed) behind the WT restores ~ 2,2 times quicker
• Support tower are of the tripod design, which allows for smaller and simpler foundation
• Easier maintenance and operation
• Can produce single-level VWTs with 2, 3, 4 or 5 blades or two-tier VWTs with 6 or 8 blades
• Design allows for production of entire range of WTs from standard blades and towers, with power output for example from 10 kW to 50 kW, or from 1 MW to 4 MW
